A Place Where the Living Were Never Meant to Go

Horror author William McNally brings readers another chilling tale with his latest novel, ‘Beneath the Veil’.

William McNally, author of the wildly popular short story collection Four Corners Dark, brings readers into his twisted world once more with his latest thriller, Beneath the Veil.  Seasoned horror writer McNally holds nothing back with his latest novel, giving lovers of the genre something to look over their shoulder and under the bed for once again.
Barry Ryan, an artist and successful sculptor, finds out that he is terminally ill.  With his entire life turned upside down and inside out, he makes the choice to go on a journey for his roots; he sets out to find one extraordinary family that somehow evades death, a very pertinent talent to Ryan’s current situation.  This search will tie him to a truly terrifying future, but he is not to be deterred.
Engaging the assistance of his sister and her boyfriend, Barry heads to Auraria, driven to find answers.  Auraria is a ghost town, a mysterious and abandoned place that holds secrets of its own, buried and hidden since the infamous Gold Rush, and Barry’s not quite ready for what he’s about to discover in this haunted place.
Once Barry, his sister, and her boyfriend cross the city limits of Auraria, the rules change.  They fall beneath the veil, into a place where the bizarre is the normal and rules those who are living, who have become little more than prey, trapped in a mindless, ever-changing, and unending web.  Generations of conflict come to the harsh light of day here, and Barry and his companions must struggle to survive in the new reality that isn’t.  The echoes of the past are lethal beneath the veil, in this place where the living are not meant to survive, because the dead have never left.
